A Message from the photographer
Welcome to one of the most beloved corners of Birmingham!
For over 20 years, Rojo along this narrow stretch of Highland Avenue has been considered by many to be an extension of family and home. The Rojo project has been a vision of mine for three years, originally a wall of portraits of first bartenders and regulars limited only to my own experience. tutoring I would park the Jeep on Highland for the night, more often than not a block from my building. Only to stop in at Rojo before heading upstairs for the night.
Here you will find the best of Birmingham’s diversity.
My FIRST ROJO FACES
Belinda, Pete, Kevin, Lucy, Sarah. Leslie Smith and Leslie Smith. Laney and Clark. Graham, Lauren, Tony, Craig, and Moriah. Jim, Kate, Anna, Berkley, and Kip. Ed and Fred.
Many more.
Norman and Grace at Auto & Truck Services downtown who kept the Jeep running smooth.
